CAMS Ben Rhodes and Rich Orduno Speaking at Annual CAI-NC Conference
Wilmington, NC (August 2022): Community Association Management Services (CAMS) is proud to announce that Senior Vice President of Community Management Ben Rhodes, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM®, and Regional Vice President Rich Orduno, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM®, will be speaking at the upcoming CAI-NC Conference and Expo. CAI-NC is North Carolina’s Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.
This year’s event will be held in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the Wilmington Convention Center on Thursday, August 25th, and Friday, August 26th.
Orduno will be participating in a panel discussion on Reliving the 70s? Inflation and Interest Rates – Impacts on Community Associations. He will be joined by Reserve Specialist Kevin Giles and Gary Woodlief with North State Bank.
In Orduno’s session, the panelists will discuss how recent inflation spikes have affected community association operating budgets, navigating the budget process with the current inflation rates, capital repair loan terms, the effect on assumed interest in reserve studies, and how inflation has impacted homeowners.
Rhodes will also participate in a panel discussion on Rental Realities Causing Worry? Strategies for Documents, Enforcement, & Communication to Lighten the Load alongside Attorney Chris Gelwicks. This session will focus on corporate rentals, Airbnbs, VRBOs, and the litigation and laws that may come as these trends grow in popularity. They’ll also review some best practices managers can use when faced with questions on rentals in their communities.
In addition to participating in panel discussions, CAMS will also have a booth at the expo. Tara Armstrong, director of CAMS Vendor Relations: Trusted Service Providers Program, will be operating the booth and chatting with board members and vendors about CAMS services, core values, and “The CAMS Way.” Everyone is invited to stop by to meet Tara and mark CAMS off their Treasure Hunt Bingo card! CAMS will be in booth 77, to the far right, when you enter the hall.
